Hello all! I really had intended for this post to come out sooner, my apologies. Chalk it up to excitement over my birthday month? Regardless, I thought I should take a minute to talk to you about what’s going on with Bif In Medias Res these days.
As you may have noticed my post Spina Bifida: A Working Definition went up on Medium.com as well as here. I recently joined Medium as a partner and will be writing there as well as continuing to post here. That initial post was a sort of test to see how posting on that site works. So far I’m really pleased with the set up on Medium, and I think it’s going to be a positive experience. Writing for Medium as a partner will also allow me to hopefully earn a little bit of money with my writing.
That’s where you come in dear reader. Income on Medium is determined by traffic to each article. That means that the more people read my work on Medium, the more I get paid. All you have to do is go to the article and stay on the page long enough to read the article, simple. You don’t have to be a member either, unless you want to sign up that is. Non members are given a certain number of free reads every month and if you run out I get a link to each piece that I’d be happy to share with you.
As for what I’ll be writing, at first I’ll be posting some of the blog posts I’ve written in the past that have gotten the most traffic on WordPress. That will be my metric for deciding how to move forward in the future. If you see that these are pieces you’ve read before and you don’t want to read them again, no hard feelings. I would ask however that you share them to extend their reach.
Again I will continue to post here to keep growing this site. It’s come so far since I started it years ago and I would love to see how far I can take it. With that in mind, I am half way to my visitor goals for the month and nearly a third of the way to my view goal. This is all thanks to you. Everyone who reads and engages with this site helps it to grow and I am so grateful to each of you. If you have any questions or comments, don’t hesitate to leave them below. Again, thank you so much for all of your support!
